FILIPPO SORCINELLI Trompette 8 Extrait de Parfum 50 ml The “extrait de musique” collection aims to describe, through incense, the numerous sounds of the registers of the Great Organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. The sixth new fragrance to be presented speaks synesthetically of the trumpet register, belonging to the reed family, one of the oldest organ registers. The first documented attestation of this register is found in una Description of a large organ from the 1st century BC, located in a gladiatorial arena. The reed registers produced sound thanks to the vibration of una tongue (the reed) on two walls. Characterized by a particularly metallic and scratching sound just like real trumpets, they enrich and complete the instrument. The cap, like the previous extraits de musique, faithfully reproduces the tension rod of the registers of the Grand Parisian Organ. Trompette 8 is enclosed, like the previous ones, inside a wooden box entirely handcrafted, reminiscent of the wooden case of the large soundboards of pipe organs.
